I’m a twin, and my sister has an intellectual disability with autism spectrum disorder. Growing up together for 20 years, disability is familiar to me. However, prejudice and stereotypes toward people with disabilities still exist. Many people distance themselves due to a lack of communication. This project explores outsider art, which reflects artists' personalities, emotions, and experiences they can’t express verbally, and examines whether art can help foster understanding and connection with disabled people.
Daily life reflects our personalities through unconscious actions. The zines in this project, "What I Ate, What I Wore, What I Saw," feature simple photos of meals, outfits, and sceneries, showcasing my sister's and my daily life. The audience can glimpse our lifestyle and personalities. Postcards display images inspired by these photos, highlighting what caught our attention and what we found interesting in our everyday experiences.
