As a continuation of the 2024 zine “What I ate, What I wore, What I saw,” I organized a dialogical art workshop aimed at encouraging interaction with people with disabilities and fostering healthier, more inclusive relationships.
This workshop focused on the “What I ate” section of the original zine, specifically highlighting my younger sister’s unique dietary habit. The new title, “We are all different potatoes,” was inspired both by her particular preference—eating mashed potatoes every day—and by the well-known phrase “Think of the audience as just a bunch of potatoes,” which suggests that, regardless of names or social status, we are all human at our core. During the workshop, participants—including my sister—shared mashed potatoes together in the “Eating” segment, where they discussed their own personal habits and quirks. This was followed by the “Creating” segment, where participants were invited to express their experience with the mashed potatoes through artistic expression. The workshop aimed to cultivate empathy and emotional connection while also celebrating the richness of individual perspectives and diverse forms of expression.
